Material: low grade silver, copper alloy

The Tibetan Ghau was used to carry sacred relics, amulets and medicinal herbs, and acted as protection while traveling. The ghau can be worn hanging from the neck or on a hip band or belt.
The small statue inside depicts a deity in Namaskra mudra, with palms pressed together in celebration. This deity symbolizes the union of the spiritual and material realms.
The ghau are made by a small group of Tibetan refugee artisans currently living in Nepal.
