The Toussian (or Tussian) people of southwestern Burkina Faso use such masks in initiation rituals.
The name of the mask is hornbill mask because it has the shape of a stylized bird and contains two hornbill heads at the top.
During the ceremony, the entire body is covered and the mask is worn. The wearer then tries to imitate the animal as best as possible through movement and sound.
