Headhunters and skulls
A lot of people have a fascination with death. Or maybe it’s the tension between life and death. In the western world we deal with this differently than the primeval peoples. Ancestor worship through the nurturing of ancestral skulls or through communication through statues is sometimes incomprehensible to Westerners, but fascinating to many. And a reason to collect these kinds of extraordinary objects. It would be good to better understand the history and culture of the headhunters. Power and respect, but also fear of higher powers and of hostile neighbors are concepts we encounter when we delve into this.
